Clinical Hypnotherapy
Psychological therapy and counselling (sometimes referred to as the ‘taking cure') is the treatment of emotional and psychological disorders, unwanted habits and undesirable feelings, using psychological techniques alone. The aim of all such therapy is to assist people in finding meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling or behaving. Therapy also tends to help clients become more accepting both of themselves and others and can be most useful in promoting personal development and unlocking inner potential.
There are many forms of psychological therapy but Hypnotherapy is distinctive in that it attempts to address the clients subconscious mind.
‘What is Hypnosis?
The term ‘hypnosis', from the Greek ‘hypnos', meaning ‘sleep' was only coined circa 1840 by Dr James Braid, a Scottish physician and remains a some what less than accurate description of the experience, as the hypnotic state is, in most respects, entirely dissimilar to sleep. At our current level of knowledge, the phenomenon of hypnosis cannot be conclusively defined but perhaps a reasonable interim definition might be that: Hypnosis is a state of mind (sometimes referred to as an altered state of awareness), enhanced by (although not exclusively) mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious is able to communicate with our conscious mind.

Suggestion Therapy (including Psychovisual Therapy)
Is a straightforward technique which is used for simple problems such as smoking, nail biting, relaxation, pre-examination nerves and confidence boosting. It requires between one and three one hourly sessions, with perhaps a booster later on.
Analytical Therapy
Is used to discover the original causes of psychological problems. Hypno-analysis can be summarized briefly as the doctrine of cause and effect, ‘every effect (i.e. symptom) must have a cause. Hypno-analysis reveals and thus removes the cause and consequently relieves the symptom.
Psychovisual Therapy, What is it?
Psychovisual Therapy provides a relaxing totally enjoyable experience. While observing fascinating sculptures of gently moving light patterns, transmitted by video, encoded messages within these patterns are instructing the sub-conscious mind and transforming vulnerable attitudes into stress-proof ones. Psychovisual Therapy employs the brain's own natural processes which are there for one's own benefit and use. The soothing voice of the video creator on most of the videos brings you essential information about how the mind works, how you can change negative messages in your subconscious and what vital facts you need to know about the specific topic.
